As you add your contacts to Insightly, you'll also be adding the organizations they're affiliated with. Contacts are connected to organizations through links. Each link includes a Title field where you can enter the title of the contact at the related organization.
So if someone is a board member at one company, a representative for another, and a writer for a local charity, you can see all their connections and titles right from their contact record.
The title is visible when you view, add, or edit a contact's links. The links appear below the contact's details.
This means there is a Role field for each link. It's not a field in the contact record itself. If you would like a unique field for every contact's title, you can create a custom field for your contacts called "Title" or "Occupation."
Where to edit a contact's Role field
You can enter or edit a contact's role in three situations:
- When editing an existing link. You can add or edit the role from the Links section by moving your cursor over the link and clicking the Pencil/Edit icon that appears.
- When creating a new contact. When you enter a role and enter or select an organization, the two records will be linked.
- When adding a new link.

There is also a Title field in the contact record itself. This can be entered on its own, or with a primary organization. It will display on the Related tab with the primary organization.
For all linked organizations, the titles are visible with the contact's links in the Related subtab.
